Cadence FC, Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to some frequently asked questions.

Can the Cadence FC be used on a sweep oar?

As of August 15, 2002 we are selling a 2 inch extension for the strap on Cadence FC. Using this extension you will be able to attach the unit onto a sweep oar.

How easy is it to see the display of the Cadence FC?

Cadence FC is never more than an arms length away from your eyes. As you move from the hands away position toward the catch, Cadence FC moves together with your eyes, so you are not focusing on a moving target. It is at around shoulder height, so you can simply drop your gaze, not your head, from the horizon (or the back of the person in front of you) to read the rating.

Try it yourself by strapping on a digital watch to your oar. It's easy to read the time. The digits on the Cadence FC are about twice as large than those of most digital watches, and it's easier to mount onto the oar than most wristwatches.

What does the FC in Cadence FC stand for?

It is just the model number used in development. The first prototype was labeled FF, and we counted down the prototypes from there. FE, FD, and FC worked perfectly.

Does the Cadence FC keep track of time?

No, it does not display time or count strokes.
